当ブランドが、スポンサーを務めた1996年の
アトランタオリンピック。
その前後に製作されたスウェットがこちら。
整ったバランスのルーズなシルエットや、
フェードしたボディに惹かれました。
シンプルな1着でありながらも、新鮮味のある
5輪マークの胸元ロゴには特別感を感じますし、
汎用性の高いこんな癖の無いアイテムにこそ、
ちょっとした”個性”を求めてしまうのは
私だけでしょうか。

"J.C. Penney"—one of America’s three major
department store chains.
This sweatshirt was produced around the time
of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, an event for
which the brand served as a sponsor.
I was drawn to its well-balanced, loose
silhouette and the faded look of the fabric.
While it is a simple piece, the Olympic rings
logo on the chest feels fresh and carries a
certain sense of exclusivity.
Perhaps it’s just me, but when it comes to
versatile, understated items like this, I find
myself searching for that little touch of
"personality."
I highly recommend it.
